Who needs an EPR applicability review?
Producers, importers and brand owners may have an EPR obligation when they place plastic packaging or covered electrical and electronic equipment on the Indian market. Contract manufacturing does not by itself remove brand-owner responsibility. Applicability depends on your legal role, product or packaging category and the rules in force for the compliance year.

What happens if targets are missed?
Shortfalls may attract environmental compensation and other action under the applicable rules. Certificate availability and pricing can also tighten near a filing deadline, so targets should be tracked through the year rather than only at return time.
